One famous MBTI® ESFJ Personality Type is future heir to the throne of England, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.

Examining the life of Prince William, we can see how he personifies the qualities of the Myers-Briggs® Test ESFJ Personality Type. This is made slightly easier by the fact that his entire life has been under the watch of an entire nation since his birth.

The MBTI ESFJ Celebrity Personality Type communicates with the outside world using their Feeling preference.  They are known to hold strong values and tend to give off warmth and positive energy wherever they go.  Prince William’s Feeling preference was supported from an early age when he accompanied his mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales on her trips abroad to help others in need.  He has spent considerable time supporting worldwide humanitarian and environmental causes. Those close to him identify him as both thoughtful and caring. (Myers, CPP. 1998)

Like the traditional ESFJ Personality Type, Prince William’s extraverted preference has led him to be sociable and outgoing, but this preference relates greatly to his strong family values, which reinforces his need for strong and positive social ties. (Myers, CPP. 1998)

Additionally, The MBTI ESFJ Type gathers factual sense-based information using their Sensing preference, leading them to make decisions based on experience and facts. Prince William’s natural preference was nurtured with his diversified educational and military upbringing.  Along with his traditional royal upbringing, his diversification and fact-based education has provided him with the tools to make appropriate decisions while creating the foundation for his life experience that align with his Sensing preference. (Myers, CPP. 1998)

The ESFJ Type also emphasizes the Judging preference and in turn values tradition, following the accepted ways of living established over prior generations. News publications that have had opportunities to interview the Prince label him as “old-fashioned” in his outlook on life and responsibility. His commitment to his responsibilities as well as his role as future heir to the throne of England, matches not only his birthright, but also his innate ESFJ Personality Type. (Myers, CPP. 1998)
