Distance Learning Coordinators are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of distance learning programs, including the technical, educational, and interpersonal aspects. For example, they may develop the distance learning program itself, including quality assurance and course tracking and curriculum plans, as well as review or certify learning tracks that are already in existence. They might also assess educational and technological needs and goals and develop action plans for reaching those goals. They need to have a diverse set of skills in order to successfully complete the wide array of responsibilities expected of them on a daily basis.
