Features
The DiSCĀ® Productive Conflict Profile Report is an assessment used to assist employees, managers, executives, and leaders to find conflict resolution methods by gaining insight into their innate behavioral patterns and those of their teammates.
The report provides an interactive platform for self-discovery and highlights a means for increasing positive communication when dealing with conflict. It is an expansion of the DiSCĀ® model, breaking down each DiSCĀ® personality functionās focus and objective during team communications or decision-making activities. The official DiSCĀ® Profile Report is constructed according to the DiSCĀ® model. The 4-letter DiSCĀ® represents four behaviors: Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S), and Conscientiousness (C). It is possible to score borderline between two DiSCĀ® traits, whereas a two-letter symbol such as Di (Dominant/Influence) is assigned. Next, an individualās DiSCĀ® score is represented by a black dot on the DiSCĀ® graph. If the block dot is close to the center of the diagram, they are said to be more connected to that DiSCĀ® dimension and may display characteristics of the reported style with ease. The DiSCĀ® Productive Conflict Profile Report is expanded by including Shading, which can fall under one or more of eight priorities. Each Priority falls within a designated portion of the DiSCĀ® and is measured by a bell shape.
Below is an explanation of the eight Priorities that an individual may report as innate behavioral characteristics:
- Assertion ā Individuals who assess with this Priority are known for their influence on others. Their DiSCĀ® score lands between Dominance (D) and Influence (i), creating the perfect combination of direct, optimistic expression. They are known for their confidence and may tend to express their views in a direct manner.
- Expression ā This Priority is centered on the Influence (i) portion of the DiSCĀ® model. People who assess with this function generally focus on how conflict affects both the feelings of others as well as their own. These individuals are generally enthusiastic go-getters who can command the attention of a room with ease.
- Reassurance ā Individuals who assess with this Priority report between the Influence (i) and Steadiness (S) portions of the DiSCĀ® wheel. They are known to be easy-going people who consider othersā feelings, yet often find themselves influencing decisions with their outgoing personalities. These people generally are expressive individuals who value common agreements between all parties.
- Harmony ā This Priority is centered on the Steadiness (S) portion of the DiSCĀ®. Individuals who share this Priority generally are not comfortable with conflict and may find themselves accommodating othersā needs over their own. They are known to be patient and understanding, focusing an argument heavily on feelings over logic or facts.
- Stability ā These individuals may tend to be unforthcoming in their desires when presented with conflict. They are known to be discreet in their objectives, which are often highly analytical and diplomatic. On the DiSCĀ® model, they report between Steadiness (S) and Conscientiousness (C).
- Objectivity ā A person who assesses with a Priority in this area may come across as indifferent to othersā feelings when presented with a debated issue. Their concentration is instead commonly geared toward rationality. This Priority is centered in the Conscientiousness (C) portion of the DiSCĀ®, where many behave passionately on precision and integrity.
- Justification ā These individuals report between Dominance (D) and Conscientiousness (C) on the DiSCĀ® platform. It is common for them to challenge opposition with evidence to support their position. Competitive in nature, these people may find themselves looking for the upper hand during a dispute.
- Control ā As centered in the D portion of the DiSCĀ®, these individuals are known to be Dominant (D). They generally prefer to be in control of a situation involving conflict and may be difficult to sway. It is common for people who assess in this area to become defensive and base their argument on logic or facts.
The DiSCĀ® Productive Conflict Profile Report also introduces the four DiSCĀ® conflict styles and provides information for:
- Recognizing motivations for behavioral patterns of each style
- A comparison of how the reported style communicates with each altering style.
- Tips for how to have productive conflict management possibilities based on reported style.
- A guide for how to turn common destructive responses into productive reactions.
- An explanation of why the participant may respond with innate behaviors.
- Instructions for how to recognize when unproductive behaviors are being used.
- Ideas for how to reconsider negative innate responses (based on reported DiSCĀ® type) and revise communication for positive, productive conflict resolution.
The DiSCĀ® Productive Conflict Profile Report is a robust, interactive tool for developing positive conflict management processes. It can provide alternative methods for communication by providing a deeper understanding of othersā innate personality behaviors and gives the participant a deeper awareness of their own innate expressions. This assessment is meant to be used by working professionals but can also be applied for personal use as well.
The DiSCĀ® Productive Conflict Profile Report Assessment provides a personalized DiSCĀ® report including an overview of all DiSCĀ® styles and is expanded with the added benefits of conflict management-driven behavioral content. It is a graphical representation of an individualās DiSC Ā® scores within the four DiSCĀ® traits. Following the DiSCĀ® report, additional graphs explain DiSCĀ® Priorities and Shading for expanded information on how likely the participant is to place their energy during a conflict resolution situation. It includes an interactive portion for developing an action plan for using results, as well as strategies for interacting with individuals who assess differently than the reported participant.
