MBTI® Career Report

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator® Career Report helps to determine your best-fit career in accordance with your personality type and provides job families and occupations that coincide with your type.  it is important to remember that the Myers-Briggs is a restricted assessment and indicator and one must be level B certified by CPP inc to administer this assessment.

The MBTI Career Report can help you in the following ways as explained in the introduction section of The Career Report developed by Allen H. Hammer:

The Career Report can help you:

  • Identify job families, or broad occupational categories, to help get you started in your career search
  • Choose a specific job or career
  • Select a college major or course of study
  • Identify strengths and potential weaknesses of your type for the career search process
  • Increase your job satisfaction
  • Make a career transition or shift
  • Plan your career development strategy and action steps

The job families used in The MBTI Career Report are based on The O’Net system of occupational classification developed by The U.S. Department of Labor. This is a valuable source and can be used to search occupations, allowing visitors of The O’Net Online website to acquire information such as required skills, education, related interests (Strong Interest Inventory code related), work styles, wages, employment trends, work activities, and related occupations, as well as future growth and employment outlook. This tool can be found at www.onetonline.org. Look for the “Occupation Quick Search” box in the upper right hand corner of The O’Net Online Home Page to search for occupations of interest to you.

The summary of your results

The summary of your Myers-Briggs Type Indicator results includes an explanation of your four preferred personality preferences. For example, one might be an INTJ personality, whereas your Introversion, Thinking, Intuitive, and Judging preferences would be explained and discussed in your Career Report Summary. After which, your preference clarity index, or what is referred to as your PCI is discussed. This is the portion of your results that tells you and your professional how “clear” you are regarding your personality type. Meaning, when completing your personality assessment how close your results were to being scored completely toward one particular personality type as opposed to being moderately sure of your personality type. It is of the utmost importance to discuss your results with a professional, and when you are moderately sure, or a little unsure of your results, it is even more important to discuss your results with a said professional.
